Our Recent Work

Protecting the Snowies

Focus groups, surveys, 21st Century Town Meeting©, stakeholder meetings and online forum and discussion all contributed to a comprehensive and highly effective engagement program on a complex and contentious issue, the management of wild horses in Kosciuszko National Park. The online platform alone received almost 20,000 unique visitors, making it the most popular NSW Government online engagement ever.

Moorebank Intermodal Terminal

Never before has a group of everyday citizens been given the opportunity to decide on a package of measures to benefit their community. A Citizen's Jury, charged with determining how $1 million could be spent for community benefits as a result of new infrastructure, ensured that everyday citizens could contribute to the local health and skills development of their local community.

Public secondary education

Growing inner-city families, local public schools at capacity and a shortage of vacant land meant that NSW Education and Communities needed to think differently about how to plan for the future. Over 4,500 people were involved in this process with a large and diverse range of inner Sydney school communities actively participating in workshops, focus groups, Kitchen Table Discussions and/or the online forum as part of the consultation.

Campaspe Our Future

Straight Talk designed engaging, fun and highly interactive outreach and pop-up activities to motivate participation in long term planning for a regional Council. Incorporating games and prizes our process reached children, young adults and people of all ages to input to help create the Campaspe Our Future Strategic Plan.
